Ode to Maureen
Maureen Galvin, the name says it all
As a friend and a teacher, you are 10 feet tall
The music, the dancing, the fun and the laughter,
Are treasures we’ll all have for ever after.
Sometimes we giggle and sometimes we forget
So when we’re up on the stage is when you must fret
But on Monday nights when our practice is finished,
It’s rewarding to go to a pub for a Guinness
So look around you tonight and one thing is true
None of this would happen if it wasn’t for you!

Ladies, if you need a new Shannonside performance shirt now is the time to order! Lorrie is taking charge of this effort and has a sign-up sheet at Monday practice.

If you remember, there was a desert at John Knox the night we danced there. Several people wanted the recipe and here it is thanks to my neighbor, Wilma!
1 can pie filling (I used Lite Cherry)
> 1 can sweetened FF condensed milk
> 1 can crushed pineapple (juice and all)
> 1 8 oz Lite cool whip
> You can add 1C chopped nuts... I prefer to let folks add their own...
> Blueberries for topping
> Kay used raspberry pie filling and added raspberries on top...
> Chill overnight.
> I made mine early this afternoon and was afraid it might not set up, so I
> drained the pineapple

Thanks to everyone for bringing money tonight for your sash. I was able to give out all but 7 of 30. That's amazing, it makes distribution so much easier! There is a small white thread at the bottom of the gold fringe that should be removed. Sewing in a few stitches on the upper edge of the fringe is recommended since it is only hot glued. Do not wash, clean sash with baby wipes if needed. Iron if necessary, but use parchment paper over lettering. Cherish your sash, it cost $6 instead of $50, and you can wear it at every parade for the rest of your life! Shannonside rocks 2013. The Year of the Shannonside.

My son wrote this poem (in school no less!) and I thought it would be a wonderful addition to our website. Enjoy!
Luck of the Irish
Of course I mean you
I can't thank you enough for what you do
No matter what you drink
Or how much
You're always the wisest in my eyes
So drain that Jameson
Or drink that beer
You're always the one farthest from tears
So I can ask you anything I want
For when you drink you're never fooled
For all your love to me
Will help me fill my destiny.
P.S. I love you and you will always be
there for me.
You're the best Mom ever
And like I said
Luck of the Irish.
